Fashion site Styleite is rebranding and relaunching as Runway Riot, a fashion, beauty and shopping website for women wearing size 14 and above. Styleite founder Dan Abrams noted a shift in the site’s content focus to body image stories had gained traction. Seeing a need in the market for a more body-inclusive approach gave Abrams the idea to revamp his existing property and add an e-commerce element.
Model, ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and blogger Iskra Lawrence has been tapped as Runway Riot’s managing editor overseeing beauty, style and body image coverage in writing and videos. She will also help select looks for shoppable editorials from 10 to 20 brands offered through a partnership with affiliate link company RewardStyle. Merchandise will include apparel, accessories and beauty products ranging in price from $10 to $250. Runway Riot’s plans for expansion include designing and producing its own collections, brand collaborations and retail.
