Trunk Club, a personal styling service originally established for men, is expanding its offering into women’s apparel with Trunk Club for Women. The Chicago-based company was acquired by Nordstrom last summer and taps into the retailer’s vast inventory of contemporary brands, including Rag & Bone, Vince, Theory, Diane von Furstenberg, Equipment and more, for users to shop from.
To begin, shoppers provide details about their style, fit preferences and sizing. A personal stylist then handpicks an assortment of designer clothing and sends a preview online. Trunk Club for Women ships the personalized ‘trunks’ for a 10 day home try-on session. Users keep the items they want to purchase and send back unwanted goods with a pre-paid shipping label. Customers can request a new trunk from their stylist at anytime and there are no fees for the service.
A signup page is currently live for early online access with the official launch set for this fall. Selected participants can either receive trunk shipments or pick up merchandise in person in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and New York City.
